A Small Booklet on Photographic Composition
Composition is a very important element in photography.Understanding how and where to place the main subject of a photo helps to improve the overall image quality. Composition hasn't changed much in the D.E. (digital era) except for one important fact. Most digital cameras do not record their images in the full frame format as the film camera. The film camera recorded images as 24mm x 36mm, whereas most digital cameras photograph much smaller. Knowing this, you need to remember 2 things with these cameras.
1. What you see in the veiwfinder isn't what you record on the CCD (Charge Coupled Diode) or pixel sensor. So you need to either back up or close in a bit to maximize the digital megapixels of your camera.
2. The actual recorded image is smaller, such as the Canon T3i with a 22.3mm x14.9mm image capture sensor. These numbers are "quite close" to the 3:2 proportion of the original 35mm film format. The EOS 5D from Canon (the lower-prioced full-frame digital camera)is a true "full-frame" in the proportions of 36mm x 24mm.
So without further ado (fanfare) lets' get started.
