DreamSuitePlugIn
by
Auto FX Software
Hello everyone. I've been amiss in not adding to this blog. The problem is that writing a blog sometimes gets frustrating if you don't have a large readership. I have friends and acquaintances, but they may not be interested. Furthermore, you want people that you do not know to visit your site. Writing a blog provides a good sense of determination, and if nothing else provides self-gratification, even if there are few readers.
Today, I decided to write about DreamSuite, a plugin from Auto FX Software. DreamSuite is a free plug-in. You just need to provide an e-mail address and your name, whereupon, AutoFx provides you with a S/N (Serial Number).
DreamSuite is a soft-focus plug-in with several sliders that control different aspects of the effect.

The DreamSuite Plug-In (Photoshop)
I thought I was downloading a plug-in, and in fact I did place the plug-in in my Photoshop plug-in folder, but somehow, it seems to have opened up as a stand-alone program.
The above screen capture is probably the same as the overall larger programs that Auto FX offers.
You can see how I opened up DreamSuite

My "playing around" First Image
I sometimes like to just "play around" in an unstructured manner just to "get a feel" for the software.

The Zoom Effect with the Control Panel on the Left
One of the adjustments that you can make is to change the zoom's "ghosting" colour.
I've presented the menu to you, but I didn't use it in the image, ergo the neutral zoom colour.
The Effect of a Blue TInt Zoom Colour
This is the "round" zoom effect.
It creates the appearance of the car rotating.
A Zoom Effect with Red Chosen as the Zoom Colour (Color spelling for my American viewers)
A Menu of Pre-sets for Speeding up the Workj
A Menu for Changing the Background Appearance
Initially, I though that these textures would be part of the zoom; however I was wrong.
Summary
This "free download" is a nice idea albeit the fact that you can download other plug-ins from
Auto FX for 30 days. I'm assuming that this download gives you the menu for working with other effects from Auto FX, so if you become familiar with this plug-in, you'' get to become more proficient with their other plug-ins and programs.
I have 1 small "comment" about the program. My computer is a Mac 24" OS X software (version 10.6.8) with 4 GB of Ram and a 3.06 GHz INtel Core 2 Duo. I found that the speed was very slow when the plug-in went to render your image. My images were small screen captures (18 cm x 24 cm @ 72 dpi), but rendering took about 10-15 seconds. I'm wondering what the time would take for a large-sized file ( 8" x 10" @ 300 DPI ( 20 cm x 25cm).
Apart from that, the plug-in is easy to learn, and offers you a nice choice to alter any of your images.
